Residency

The basis for determining the appropriate tuition charge rests upon whether a student is a North Carolina resident. Please consult the Determining Residency for Tuition Purposes for more information.

Housing

Traditional residence halls include Cannon, Hoey, Cone, East, Belk, Bowie, Eggers, Frank, Coltrane, Gardner, and Justice. Only upper classmen can live in Newland, App. Heights, and Winkler. The Living Learning Center is reserved for Watauga College, Teaching Fellows and International Students. For more information regarding these residence halls and other housing choices, please contact Housing and Residence Life.

Meal Plan

Appalachian Food Services is operated by Appalachian State University--not an outside, for profit corporation like many other schools-- and operates on a declining balance system where students decide when and where to spend their money.
